Everything from one single source! This was the motto that helped Weiss+Appetito AG succeed in obtaining the contract for a partial reconstruction project in Bern. The key factors: our company's professionalism and experience in reconstruction work that preserves value.
The contract for the partial reconstruction of the properties at Holligenstrasse 109 and 121 in Bern was placed by Zürcher Kantonalbank. After an application procedure lasting several months, Weiss+Appetito AG was finally awarded the contract in November 2015. One of the main reasons for this success was our company's experience of sole contracting for apartment building reconstruction projects.
The contract comprised the complete replacement of kitchens, WCs and bathrooms in 29 apartments. It also included the replacement of all windows and balcony doors, replacement of the electrical installations, and painting work. In addition, the doors and sunblinds in all 111 apartments in both high-rise buildings had to be replaced, and the roller shutters repaired.
Apart from the sheer scope of this job, one of its special features is the height of the two apartment blocks: each of them has 15 storeys. Another challenge for construction management was that the apartments were occupied during the conversion phase, and the time frame for completion of the work was extremely short. Coordination and on-site support for tenants proved to be demanding tasks, but they were nevertheless accomplished to the client's complete satisfaction.
