Impressive construction project of the Coop Jumbo Oberburg, where architecture and sustainability meet on the same level and we are allowed to be part of it. Together with the specialists from Prima-Sol, our Floors + Coverings team laid the foundations for this visionary floor design project.
The new Coop Jumbo building in Oberburg is a prime example of modern architecture and careful selection of materials. The complex comprises a two-storey wooden building with a solid basement that provides space for parking. Our highlight of the project is the use of exposed hard concrete in the sales area and delivery zone. In total, an impressive 3,200 m² of exposed hard concrete was laid, which offers exceptional aesthetics and durability thanks to its special finish - polished to the grain. This careful finishing and impregnation enabled rapid completion, which significantly increased the efficiency of the construction process.
In the parking zone, an epoxy resin infill covering in combination with quartz sand was applied to 4,400 m² to ensure optimum slip resistance. This surface not only offers high durability, but also resistance to impact, pressure and abrasion, making it ideal for the high number of visitors.
The combination of these materials offers numerous advantages: exposed hard concrete ensures an impressive appearance and long service life, while the epoxy resin bedding ensures safety and robustness in the parking zone. Both materials help to make the construction process efficient and maximize the overall performance of the building.
The combination of fair-faced hard concrete and epoxy resin flooring has created a building that is characterized by its beauty, practicality and durability.
