The parking garage at Scheibenstrasse 70, Bern, is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation with a planned completion date of June 2024. The main focus is on waterproofing the U2 floor slab at groundwater level. Prior to the actual waterproofing measures, specific preparatory work was carried out using single-component polyurethane foam.
An essential part of this project is the use of curtain injections. The floor slab is sealed using a low-viscosity acrylic-based hydrogel, which was applied via around 2000 drill holes. The total quantity of hydrogel used amounts to six tons.
The aim of the renovation team is to develop the parking garage into a safe and functional space that meets the highest standards in terms of building protection. We will keep you up to date on the progress of this important project.
