The new training hall for the SCL Tigers is being built next to the existing infrastructure in Langnau. This construction project laid the foundations for a future ice surface that will offer the club better training facilities. The surface was concreted in a single day, with great precision and under high time pressure.
218 cubic meters of concrete in one day
The work was carried out by the concrete specialists from Pegrila AG executed. A total of 218 cubic meters of Mono concrete processed. Twenty-nine concrete mixers were used for this. The entire area of over 1500 square meters was completed in a single day. The high level of accuracy was crucial: the deviation was a maximum of three millimetres per four meters. This design ensures an even and resilient surface as the basis for the subsequent construction.
Prerequisite for ice build-up
This precision is necessary in order to create an even ice surface later on. The conditions required for training operations can only be created with an even and stable base. The surface must not only be precisely executed, but also durable and low-maintenance.
Next construction phase: The actual ice rink
With the completion of the concrete work, the foundation has been laid. The next step is the construction of the ice surface itself. The new training hall will provide additional training time for the SCL Tigers' junior and professional teams and strengthen the location in the long term.
