Between April 20 and the end of July 2026, we built a new mobile network site in Gals on behalf of a mobile network operator. The contract included ground construction work, the erection of the 22-meter-high mast, and the subsequent installation of the technical components on the antenna. Individual adjustments for other operators will follow afterwards.
Careful preparation of the construction documents
We carefully checked the information again while preparing the documents for the building application. This allowed us to make minor adjustments at an early stage.
Such checks are important prior to construction as they concern the planning of the mast and the details in the building application. For this reason, we checked the values and adjusted them where necessary. Following this, we jointly prepared for the next project steps, focusing on the right foundations.
The adjustment took place before the actual execution. There is no connection between the later erection of the mast and the original construction.
Pipes at the intended foundation location
During the excavation work, an additional task became apparent. Pipes were found at the planned foundation location that had to be taken into account.
During execution, it was essential to take the location of the pipes into account. Only after that could the foundation work be adjusted to the actual situation on site.
No special methods or exceptional tools were required for the implementation. The work could be continued with standard equipment. It was crucial to integrate the new situation directly into the process in order to create the foundation for the 22-meter-high mast.
Construction of the 22-meter-high mast
The erection of the 22-meter-high mast took place in several steps. First, the work on the foundation was completed. Following this, the construction of the mast began. The components were brought to the construction site, prepared for assembly, and erected.
During assembly, it was essential to coordinate the individual steps with the companies involved. The later attachment points and cable routes for the technical components also had to be taken into account.
The installation of the mast did not complete the task yet. At that point, while the supporting structure was in place, the technical equipment was still missing.
Following the mast erection, the antennas and components were installed. The parts were mounted at the designated locations on the mast, secured, and connected to one another.
This work was partially carried out at a height of 22 meters. To ensure an efficient workflow, it was essential that the material was ready in the correct order. Coordination between the workers on the ground and at the mast was of crucial importance.
In addition to the antennas, the equipment included mounting hardware, cables, and other technical components for installation. The components were mounted on the mast and prepared for later use.
Only after completing this work step was the mast technically ready for operation. As a rule, only the completed antenna system is visible from below. Behind it lie several individual assembly steps that must be coordinated with one another.
Collaboration on the construction site in Gals
Such a project only succeeds when all participants work together seamlessly. Several specialized partner companies were involved at the Gals mobile site.
Many thanks to all partners for the great collaboration, flexible coordination, and reliable on-site deployment. Especially with a mobile communications site, many work steps interlock: the work on the ground, the erection of the mast, the assembly of the antenna components, as well as the technical clarifications regarding the foundation and the cable routing.
Adjustments to the documentation and pending issues also had to be continuously resolved so that the planned construction phase could be implemented smoothly. Thanks to the good coordination, a new mobile communications site with a 22-meter-high, technically equipped mast was successfully built in Gals.
