Efficient renovation of a 1100m² parking garage in Zollikofen

An impressive renovation was carried out in Zollikofen near Hübeliweg: A 1100m² parking garage was extensively renovated in just three months. The focus was on repairing corrosion damage and improving the insulation.

The main problem was the inadequate concrete covering of the reinforcing bars on the soffit, which had led to corrosion. To tackle this problem, a multi-stage renovation process was carried out:

  1. Preparation: The existing layered insulation boards were removed using a high-pressure water jet. This method enabled thorough cleaning and preparation of the surface.
  2. Reprofiling: The damaged areas of the concrete surface were carefully reprofiled. Particular attention was paid to the break-outs in order to create a smooth and stable surface.
  3. Mortar application: A fresh application of mortar 20 to 30 mm thick was sprayed onto the prepared ceiling soffit. This not only served as a repair, but also to protect the reinforcing bars in the future.
  4. Reinforcement: Additional reinforcements in the form of slats were installed in the area of the entrance ramp. This measure increases the stability and durability of the structure.
  5. New insulation: Finally, new layered insulation boards were installed to ensure optimum thermal insulation.

This comprehensive refurbishment demonstrates how efficiently modern construction techniques can be used to make far-reaching improvements to existing structures in a short space of time. The combination of corrosion protection and improved insulation will not only extend the service life of the parking garage, but also increase its energy efficiency.

The quick implementation in just three months also minimized the inconvenience for the users of the parking garage and demonstrates the efficiency of the team carrying out the work.
