Our roof can do more - with green roofs for energy efficiency

Our roof can do more - with green roofs for energy efficiency
We rely on green roofs out of conviction - because we live responsibility not just on paper, but in concrete terms. For us, sustainable action begins where it is visible: on our own roof. We have therefore created a green, energy-efficient and climate-active area on our company headquarters. This intelligently combines renewable power generation, sophisticated water management, urban cooling and ecological diversity - and shows what future-oriented construction can look like today.

Energy and efficiency in vertical form
Bifacial, vertically installed solar modules produce environmentally friendly electricity on our flat roof surface. This design allows both direct and reflected solar radiation to be used efficiently - all year round and with low space consumption. The vertical arrangement also reduces the risk of shading from snow or vegetation and enables optimum integration into the roof system below.

Climate protection through evaporation and retention
Below the PV system is an extensive layer of vegetation on a capillary-active substrate structure with a water storage function.

  • Water storage volume: up to 50-58 l/m²
  • Evaporation capacity: up to 75 % of the annual precipitation
  • System weight saturated with water: approx. 124-180 kg/m²

These components ensure significant cooling of the ambient air through evaporation - especially on hot summer days. At the same time, water retention relieves the drainage system and flood peaks are absorbed.

Biodiversity meets technology
The extensive greening is not only functional, but also ecologically valuable: drought-resistant, regionally adapted plants create a species-rich habitat for insects, birds and small animals - directly above the working day. The roof thus becomes an important building block for urban biodiversity and a visible sign of our commitment to the environment.

Added value for people, buildings and the environment
The greenery protects the underlying roof layers from UV radiation, temperature fluctuations and mechanical stress - this extends the service life of the components and reduces both maintenance and energy costs. The natural cooling through evaporation and shading also noticeably reduces the heating of the interior spaces.

Our roofs can do more - they generate electricity, store water, improve the microclimate and promote biodiversity. This not only shows what is technically possible, but also what can be achieved with real responsibility.

Because sustainable thinking starts on your own roof.
